As a creative person and someone who does handwork, there have been times I was making something or designing a cake and I made mistakes, but because I am the one making it, I turn that mistake into a style. And if you aren’t told, you wouldn’t know it was a mistake. Read More »

Remember Now Thy Creator In The Days Of Thy Youth

growing-older-2

This past week while browsing through Instagram, I came across a question, a 22-year-old was asking. Dude was in a relationship and wants to start having sex but his girlfriend wants to keep her virginity until marriage. He was contemplating leaving the relationship so he could be free to have sex with other girls, he was asking for advice on what to do.

The answers shocked me honestly, he was told to enjoy his life now that he’s young, and have all the sex he wants to have. At first, I didn’t think too much about it, but yesterday I came across the below scripture and then I thought of writing this article.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 (NKJV), Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”.

This is an appeal to us, young people, to think carefully about our Creator, not merely to remember that he is there.

It’s easy for us to get carried away by our youthfulness to do whatever we like, but we are not our own we are the Lord’s.

We should seek God now in our earliest days, we are not meant to please ourselves, we are not meant to gratify the passions of the flesh; passions that seem will consume us, let’s use our energy and strength which we still have to serve God.

Remember you are God’s property, so serve Him from the start of your years, not the end of your years, when energy and strength are very limited.

The earlier a person comes to the Lord, the fewer problems he, or she, will have. Sometimes, I believe it is easier for the youth to come to the Lord than an old man.

When a person comes to the Lord at an early age, the Lord helps him through those difficult years, when the lust of the flesh is so great.

In our later years, it seems that the lusts connected with youth fade away. In each person’s life, there is an end. We all grow old and die.

Ecclesiastes 11:10 (NKJV), Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh, for childhood and youth are vanity.

We think time is on our side, but you and I do not know the day we will die. Life is not yours to live as you like. Who knows if it’s in that sin, you will die?

I know that there probably has never been a time when youth has been subjected to more temptations and pressures to wrong living than today. Temptation is all around us, it is subtle, it is powerful. The appeal of the world and the flesh is constantly with us, turning thousands of young people away from the truth of God.

But I want to tell you this, young people: it will get worse the older you grow. The pressures to conform are greater as you move out into life and business; Evil pressures increase; that is one good reason to remember your Creator in the days of your youth.

Remember and serve God now before old age and the disease of old age catches up with you and you won’t have pleasure in anything again.

One thing I have learnt about life is that you can flex all you want, enjoy how you deem fit, but as long as you are not fulfilling the purpose for your creation, you will forever be empty. The deeper you go into sin, the more empty and desperate you will be and the cycle goes on. No form of worldly enjoyment can ever fill the void in your life. Only God can fill that void.

At the end of our lives, God will bring everything that we have done out into the open and judge it according to its hidden intent, whether it is good or evil.

You are not your own, you have been bought with a price, so you cannot do what you like.

Life is not given to you to do as you like.

I appeal to us today, let’s use our youth to serve God, what will be your contribution when you are old to God’s Kingdom? Let’s take a look at the below scripture

2 Samuel 19:35 (AMP), I am this day eighty years old. Can I [be useful to advise you to] discern between good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or drink? Can I still hear the voices of singing men and women? Why then should your servant be an added burden to my lord the king?

Thank you all for reading, I hope you have blessed. Kindly do share your thoughts about this in the comment section, it will be great hearing from you all.

Debbie’s Corner: Outside of God; We are nothing but Withered Plants

My younger brother was looking at a flower bed one morning and he noticed how in the midst of this flourishing flower bed, there was a stalk which had no leaf, no flower, nothing on it save its dry branches. And he asked me why that particular plant was dried in the middle of flourishing plants. The funny part is, this particular dry plant is in the exact middle of this flower bed but it is the only dry plant. Read More »

You’re a Precious Jewel; You Can’t be treated like a Rag.

Hello everyone, long time no hear. Today I’m going to talking about an issue that’s very passionate to me. Single Ladies, this post is for you.

This New Year I have been following a popular Nigerian Psychologist Instagram page and from his page, I discovered a very disgusting ugly trend among ladies. Stories of ladies slaving for a man all in a bid to get married.

There’s a lot of desperation among ladies to get and keep a man. The most painful part is that the men whose ladies are doing heaven on earth for them, most often do not appreciate it.

That’s why I always say, Ladies stop doing wifey duties for a man who isn’t your husband.

All these nonsense of cooking, washing and cleaning for a man who is not your husband should stop.

You are not an abandoned property neither are you a cheap commodity that is in a hurry to be sold off to any Tom, Dick and Harry, No.

I hear some people say, if you don’t do all these things, how would he know you’re a wife material? You don’t have to prove anything to show him you are the one for him; he is the one that should prove to you that he’s the one for you, not the other way round.

Dear lady, you are not the one to be looking for a husband. Accompanying the above ugly trend is the one where Ladies will be competing amongst themselves, trying to get a guy’s attention, please STOP it. Marriage is not a competition, neither is it a race.

Don’t let any man play God over you, that you start fighting a fellow woman over him. I have come to realise that, it’s we ladies that encourage irresponsibility, we let men eat their cake and have it. He is not a trophy to be won, so don’t fight over a guy; you have nothing to prove.

Unfortunately, this is the reason why domestic violence will not stop.

As you throw yourself at him, and open your precious legs for him, cook and wash his clothes, he will see you as a very cheap product. Your value before him has reduced, and unfortunately, the more you sleep with him, the less he thinks of you. What do you do with something you have no regard or value for? You simply throw it away or use it as a rag.

It’s unfortunate that ladies, who you think should know better are the ones who behave like their brain is on holiday. How can a lady be paying the bills of a boyfriend, house him, buy him clothes, cook for him, sleep with him and yet the guy is not treating her well, on top of that, he may even be using her for boxing practice, but instead of leaving the relationship because she deserves better she stays on the relationship because to her, singleness is a disease and it is better to have someone even if he doesn’t treat me well, he would change one day.

We want abuse to stop? Let’s treat ourselves better. You do know that you are precious right? You are the apple of God’s eyes, and you are worth more than just being a Mrs, you are powerful beyond your imagination; most importantly, your life is NOT defined by the existence or presence of a man.

I use to be very naïve, foolish and stupid in love. I was held in the bondage of a stupid relationship, but until the day I discovered I AM WORTH MORE THAN RUBIES and I DESERVE BETTER I was still being a slave.

I really wish you know you have value and you are to be treated like the QUEEN that you are.

Don’t sell yourself cheap. Don’t carry yourself like you have no value. You are a precious jewel, the Apple of the Lord’s eye. He took his time to create you.

The bible says in Matthew 7:6 (NKJV), “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

Because you are valuable, you cannot afford to be with someone who treats you like trash.

Love is in action not in words, and any man who doesn’t VALUE you needs to be shown the door.
