Debbie’s Corner: Having the Holy Ghost alone; won’t put you before Kings

Yeah, you read that title right, having the Holy Ghost won’t put you before Kings. Having the Holy Ghost is an added advantage to you as a Christian. It is through diligence that one is set before Kings. The bible says in Proverbs 22:29 (NKJV), “Do you see a man who excels in his work?
He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men. The above scripture explains it well.

Romans 12:11 (KJV), also says “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord”.

Meaning that you must first have a business or something you are doing and then be diligent in it. This could either be a side hustle, your job or your handwork.

Most of us have exchanged diligence for prayer, for going to church, for fasting etc.

Have you ever asked yourself why people who are not as strong as you in prayer or who can’t speak in tongues for as long and as well as you, are making headway in life? Their accounts balances are speaking loud and clear, meanwhile, you who can fast for Africa is still struggling to make ends meet.

If it were by spiritual acts, a lot of church people would be billionaires today.

The bible has made it clear, DILIGENCE not LAZINESS not PROCRASTINATION in business or in life would place you before great men and not unknown men.

A pastor I respect so much said, “it is time for Christians to stop praying and start thinking. She said if you’re poor and you have been praying all night, it is time to stop praying and start thinking, start working on how to make money.

God has already heard your prayer, it is time to take a step, you’re waiting for Him while He’s waiting for you.

The truth is, there is always something in your hand that God has given you to make wealth. When the Lord sent Moses to Egypt, and he (Moses) felt he was incapable and ill-equipped, the Lord said unto him, what is that in your hand?

He has deposited in you, great talents, beautiful ideas and potentials in you. Enough of all these excuses; they ain’t gonna help you.

Your diligence is what will distinguish you from the multitude. The Holy Spirit is an added advantage.

Just to be very clear, I am not saying you should stop praying; prayer is good, but instead of praying for money to magically fall from the sky, start utilizing the ideas God has given you diligently and “watch your level change”.

The bitter truth is a lot of Christians are very lazy, and so we hide under the umbrella of prayer & fasting or hearing from God to cover up our laziness.

There’s the example of a graduate who was living with a church brother, he got a job offer to come work in a school and will be paid N70,000 but he refused saying he hasn’t heard from God yet whether he should take the job or not.

Another offer came; he rejected it with the same excuse. When the person he was living with saw that this guy wasn’t ready to work, he gave him a deadline to leave his house. That was when the eyes of brother I haven’t heard God opened, he now started begging, that he would take the job. Unfortunately for him someone who was more serious had taken up the offer.

It pains me when I see “sons walking while servants are riding on horses”. If you have been wondering why, I hope this article answers your question.
