In the past few days, I have read a number of rants criticising the Hallelujah Challenge. When I read the first rant on instablog, my initial response was not today satan, not today. But later in the night as I was ruminating over it I felt strongly in my spirit that I should talk about it or rather write a response.

To be honest I was disappointed when I read that some people were opposing the Hallelujah Challenge. It’s true that Nigerians or should I say Africans love anything that has to do with religion, it’s true that sometimes we tend to use religion as a cover for laziness, I wrote about that HERE.

But the Hallelujah Challenge is NOT religion; we are Worshipping and Praising God not for what He can give us but for who He is. Anyone who can criticise the Hallelujah Challenge must be someone who the devil is using.

We keep talking about nations that are not as religious as ours are way more developed, but these same countries that we use as criteria to rubbish God are the same countries that were founded on the Word of God. Take the US for instance; Presidents did not make any move until they have gotten a go ahead from Men of God. Prayer was still very much a part of schools in the US, but when was it removed from US schools? It happened in our generation. Even the US dollar bill had in “God we trust on it”.

The truth is development will elude us until we acknowledge who our source is, and our source is God. We (Nigeria) and its people are nothing and will achieve absolutely nothing without God. The truth is the world will come to a point when it’ll be bereft of solutions and will look for it from the children of God.

The Bible says in Romans 8:19-22 (NIV)For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

The creation is in travails and will only be delivered from that travail when the children of God wake up to their responsibility.

The truth is man will come to a time (if it hasn’t already) that it will be bereft of solutions to its ever increasing problems and then would we realise we need God.

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the Lord’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And all nations shall flow to it.
Many people shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Isaiah 2:2-3

This scripture is a prophecy God gave to Isaiah the prophet in the last days when men have seen the futility of their wisdom; they will run to the House of God.

The devil has seen the number of mind-blowing miracles, testimonies and the revival taking place that’s why he has sent his instruments to confuse people, dissuade people and discourage people from joining in this challenge. The Hallelujah Challenge is a call to revival, like I revealed in this post, so many dead spiritual lives will be awoken. Even if it is one soul that will be won for the Lord, this challenge is more than worth it.

It’s rather unfortunate that it has become something of pride or “wokeness” to criticise Christianity and anything that has to do with it. It has become somewhat of a shame to publicly declare the God’s word and this trend is rather disturbing.

I would by this post encourage everyone of us to not only join the Hallelujah Challenge but also to not be ashamed of the gospel. Let’s recognise and be watchful on the activities of the enemy, how he can be crafty, how he can want to destroy our minds and the Faith and Confidence we have in God.

I would end this post with a scripture that we should ruminate on “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek”. Romans 1:16 (NKJV)

  1. I have decided not to join issues with anyone that criticise the Hallelujah Challenge rather I'll say a word of prayer to God on their behalf. God's word says 'the battle is the Lords' and not mine.
