Living Above
Tuesday, September 27 2016

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above and not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:1-2(NIV)

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:26 KJV

When the hearts of men begin to fail them for fear it shows that their hearts are not set above where Christ is seated but on the earth. The posture of Christ in heaven is of one seated which is a posture of rest, stability and assuredness. Any time we take our eyes off him fear creeps and unsettles and destabilizes us, so we move from rest to a life full of anxiety and depression.

One reason why we are admonished to study the scripture is for days like these when everything seems topsy turvy and there’s a lot of confusion on how to solve the problems. That which you have studied is supposed to rise up in your heart, permeate your mind and then proceed out of your mouth. The word spoken by God over your life has to become the word you are also speaking over your life. Your tongue must be in agreement with the word of God, for that word to truly garrison your heart in the day of trouble.

So, what is that fear you are living in? What is that issue that seems unmovable and insurmountable? Whatever it may be you can speak to it. Jesus answered the fig tree, spoke to storms, blessed five loaves of bread and two fish, and brought the dead back to life. Jesus showed us that the spoken word can address all kind of issues that confront humanity. It’s time for you to sit where you rightfully belong and free yourself from the tormenting hands of fear.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

Today is a gift; don’t let it go to waste.
