“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:26 KJV

The days in which we live have forced a lot of people into living in fear, ranging from the unpredictable nature of government, the global economy, the increase in acts of violence and so many perplexing issues too numerous to mention.

Beyond the myriad of global issues that the whole of humanity is grappling with are individual fears people have to fight off daily. The fear of sickness and death, the fear of failure, the fear of poverty, the fear of living an insignificant life and so many others.

Sadly the church has not helped in this regard for many have preached another gospel because they want to keep the members tied to their apron strings constantly in need of prayer from the ‘anointed man of God’ to tackle their enemies. Today people live in great fear of the devil. A ‘devilphobia’ culture is gradually being ingrained in our church systems through what is being taught. The greatest intensity in prayers is when we are binding devils. The largest turnouts for our prayer meetings are for days set aside to ‘kill the enemy’.

People are being taught to walk in fear and not faith. Many are told what the devil can do and not what God has declared already. This what the scriptures say

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NIV

I encourage you today to hold fast to God’s word. God is bigger, greater and stronger than anything, anyone and every situation you are in or will ever be. Do not let fear dictate the pace of your life, LET GOD AND LET HIS WORD.

Today is a gift; don’t let it go to waste
