For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 1John 5:4 (NKJV)
What the World Needs Now Is Love is a song written in 1965 by Hal David and Burt Bacharach. First recorded and made popular by Jackie DeShannon that same year, it has since been recorded by over 100 artistes, including Dionne Warwick, The Supremes and Luther Vandross.
Its lyrics, What the world needs now, is love sweet love/It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of, ring true of creation’s yearning.
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:19 (KJV)
As long as those of us equipped to live the higher quality of life we are called to in Christ, fails; the world around you – your sphere of influence per time by virtue of your occupation and positioning – will remain in bondage to decay and corruption and will not experience the liberty Christ wrought for the world. Creation awaits the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:20-22).
And what, ultimately, is this manifestation or expression of the sons of God?
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God;
and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is
coming [progressively] to know and understand God [to perceive
and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him]. 1John 4:7 (Amp.)
Your world around you is thirsty for the one who will demonstrate the love of God. There’s already enough hatred, rage, malice, envy, bitterness and greed. Such is what oils the wheels of the system of the world. Lie, kill, cheat to get ahead. Withhold your time, money, compassion, knowledge. Be rude back when you’re insulted, retaliate when wronged. Look out for no one but yourself… That is how to live normally – the low life.
To live above is to; “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” [Matthew 5:44].
To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike]. Matthew 5:45 (Amp.)
The victory that overcomes the world is our faith. And faith works by love (Galatians 5:6).
Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].
Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (AMP)
Today is a gift; don’t let it go to waste.
