A few days back I was watching the MTV Video Music Awards with my sister; in which Kanye West new music video was premiered. I don’t know how many of you have seen it; it’s titled Fade, featuring Teyana Taylor. That video has generated a lot of buzz, with a lot of women saying the video is inspiring them to lose weight. She’s got a great body, I know, but how many of you noticed the sublime message in that video?
First and foremost, as far as I was concerned; she was naked, she was damn too exposed. Secondly, that video is just pornography. It shows how fast thinking the devil is, how the devil has penetrated everywhere and is silent, vigorously and aggressively working.
I kept telling my sister, how intelligent the devil is. On the ordinary, the video looks innocent and no one is seeing the silent message being passed across. Everyone is praising her body and running to the gym, but in my opinion, the message of that video is porn. I had to ask myself what was the essence of the bathroom scene at the end of the video?
The devil is working vigorously and aggressively because he knows time is running out, unfortunately, we Christians are very relaxed and insensitive. What should we do? We should be sensitive in and to the Spirit of God. Most of us, our ears have being blocked by the cares and worries of this world, not only that we are too busy doing things that do not matter, fighting amongst ourselves even in church to hear what God wants to say. Let’s pray for sensitivity to the times and the seasons.
Also, we should be not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; we should be bold in declaring His Lordship; in our conversations, actions, workplaces, schools, social media everywhere. Let’s get the gospel everywhere.
Time is running out, so we should redeem the time, let’s stop wasting time pursuing things that do not matter, or fighting for leadership positions in church, or fighting over which denomination is better, or arguing over jewelry, wearing of trouser etc all those things are just distractions; distractions meant to take our focus off the major thing, which is Preaching the Gospel and the Salvation of Souls.
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
These are desperate times and we need to watch out.
