Few days back, we looked at what to watch out for in the man you want to spend the rest of your life with. You can find it HERE. Today, we will look at what to watch out for in a lady you want to get married to.
Women are specially crafted and created by God to play a vital role in the life of a man. Without a woman, man would have become extinct, for the ability to nurture a seed into a being is only the exclusive reserve of the woman.

A woman brings finesse to a man’s roughness, femininity to his masculinity and “tushness” to a man’s “bushness” When I take a look at my wife, I consider her the greatest blessing in my life after the Lord Jesus Christ!

That is why as a single or married, you must understand the role of a woman so that you don’t end up abusing what could have been your greatest blessing. So, what do you look out for in a woman?

1. Look for a helper and pray for the helper in her to come forth in its fullness.

Look for a helper. A woman is divinely and genetically packaged to be a helper! God looked at Adam, in his uniqueness and his recent display of the height of intellectualism in naming and giving nomenclatures to all the animals without a drop of sweat; and said it is not good for him to be alone! Let us make him a helper!

A helper is a companion. The word companion simply means somebody that will go along with you. Now, that is very important. You need someone that will go with you, not someone that is with you in body but disenfranchised from you in her mind.

You need agreement. Two cannot walk together unless they are agreed. You need someone who is in agreement with you, not someone you coerced into marriage. You need someone who agrees with your person and not just with your money.

The amplified Bible actually amplifies the word “helper” in Gen 2:18

Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.

This is what you look for in a woman. Somebody that is suitable, adapted, and complimentary. You need somebody that will complement and not compete with you. It is a companionship, not a championship. Married women, this is your role in the life of your husband!

As a husband, do you feel these qualities are lacking in your spouse? Then pray and prophesy them into her.

2. Look for a spiritual woman and pray God’s love to be shed abroad her heart

Secondly, look for a spiritual woman. This is very important. When I say a spiritual woman, I mean somebody that understands that there is a spiritual realm as much as there is a physical realm.

You need a lady in your life that can be an encouragement when you are discouraged. You need a woman in your life that will not push you into sin. Job’s wife was not a spiritual woman. She was not an encourager. She was a knife rather than a wife! At the abysmal pit of pain and loss that Job found himself, Job’s wife looked at him and

Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die. (Job 2:9 KJV)

But I love Job’s reply in Message Translation. He replied her, “you are talking like an empty-headed fool!

As a single, when your fiancée begins to push you to compromise your integrity, to dip your hands in sin, or to get involved in falsehood, that is a wrong woman to get involved with.

There are times in man’s life when he is at the lowest ebb of his strength. Such is the time for a woman to rise up! Young men, you see why it is fool-hardy to marry a lady only because of her hot legs alone? Is her heart hot for God too?

3. Look for a beautiful woman and pray God’s glory into her life

Yes, this is very important. Make sure she is beautiful and you like her physical appearance! Why is this so very important? Men are moved by sight! God knows this, and the devil knows it. That is why an average film is not complete today without some family-dangerous scenes.

As a man, go for a woman that you love her person, her heart and her body. It helps you to focus and keep your eyes from running to and fro. I don’t care how spiritual or anointed you are, you are moved by sight if you are man and you have flesh. Ladies do change over time, but men you are the ones responsible for however your wife looks today!

If she is getting flabby and you don’t like it, enroll her in a gym and follow her there. That is how to be a man. If you continue to make jest of her and show your displeasure, you will get her depressed and she would even eat more! Most women deal with depression by eating anything available. Some go ahead to spend recklessly and buy things they don’t need.

What if your wife had said because she wanted to keep her figure eight, she wouldn’t have any babies? I am sure you would roar like a lion!

So now that she’s got three kids and you are still praying for twins, don’t make her look like an idiot by telling her she is not taking care of herself.

Join her, Google options you can explore, talk to her lovingly, and lose the weight together, after all, the scripture says, “lay aside the weight!

My wife is beautiful. I consider myself blessed as regards that. It helps me to focus. I hardly see anybody that I desire to the point of losing focus. That is why it is good to go for a beautiful woman, lest you struggle with that for life and the devil take advantage of that.

If you are already married, it is too late to regret. She is beautiful. That’s all. No more, no less. There is no reverse gear in marriage. Make her beautiful, by spending good money on her. Appreciate her person, and then you will see more of her beauty because at the end of the day, beauty is in the beholder’s eye!

If you keep telling her she is no longer beautiful, you are making her vulnerable because a hundred other men outside would be commending her and if she is not grounded, she can fall for such antics!

Learn to appreciate her! Comment about her hairdo. After eating, don’t only tap your tummy, give her a hug and say thank you!

I will be good to my spouse

Lord, teach me to be loving and accomodating.

Rom 5:5 (KJV)
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Jeremiah 32-34
