THE TALE OF THE PURPLE LIPSTICK

For like forever, I’ve being craving to have a purple lipstick, jeez I wonder what’s the connection between I and the colour purple. I loveeeee purple lipsticks, there’s just something about it. It’s beautiful, sexy, fun, super creative; I honestly don’t think anyone can go wrong with a purple lipstick. It’s a shade I can wear all day every day.

Thus began my hunt for the perfect purple lipstick, unfortunately I’ve not being able to get the shade I want from the makeup brand I patronize. I get all of my makeup from bmpro; powder, lipstick, lip gloss (I’m not a makeup person, but I can’t do without my powder and lip gloss) and bmpro has the best. I’ve being patronizing bmpro for the past 4years now.
I don’t know how many of you have seen the video Romantic by Korede Bello, the lip stick Tiwa used, is the exact shade of purple I want. I’ve searched for that shade but sadly I’ve being unable to locate it; though I have other shades of purple (violet and violetta). So two (2) days ago while I was in the market, I located a makeup stand in a beauty shop.
My eyes drafted quickly to the lipstick rack and lo and behold, I saw a purple lip stick in the exact shade I’ve being looking for. I usually don’t buy anything I don’t budget for, but that lipstick had to be the exception. I asked for the price and I was told N500, I was shocked. I quickly bought it without thinking twice.
As soon as I got home and my sister was putting away the things I bought, she came across the lipstick, opened it and perceived it. She was like; did you perceive this thing before paying for it? I said no. I perceived it, and it smelled horrible. I just shrugged.
Anyway I decided to apply it on my lips, jeez it has one of the most horrible feeling ever. My people this lipstick was paint, I’m not exaggerating, it was literally paint. I had to throw the nonsense away. I should have known that a lipstick that cheap would be fake.
I don’t want to say the name of the company so I don’t spoil market, but mehn I learnt a lesson that day. I’m always a believer of stick to what works for you and any time I deviate from that philosophy I always regret it.
Moreover I’m also a believer of buying makeup from the company that makes it directly, not buying from third parties, for example I buy my makeup products from bmpro directly. Any time I buy makeup from market/stores most often times I buy the fake ones.
Bmpro works for me, so no more deviating, though I know one day I’ll get what I’m looking for.
Do you have any experience so far from using/patronizing makeup products? I would love to hear all about it.
As always I love to hear from you, kindly drop a comment.
